Check out this month's new comic strip! 🤩My goal is to do one comic strip a month—I miss the deadline sometimes, but every discipline needs to be flexible, right? This one required extra effort: the background was modeled in 3D using the Blender software. After a year of dedication and passion, I present to you the sculpture of Júlia, the character who enchants the heart of our protagonist, Nicolas the inventor. Every detail was sculpted with cold ceramic, a material that allowed me to explore textures and shapes with precision. I started with her, the scene-stealing supporting character, and soon I will reveal the hilarious Joanelson.   🇬🇧 December's comic is done!  Finished it this week and I'm super happy with the result 🤓. The goal of one comic per month is being achieved and it's helping me keep my creativity flowing. I love creating my character's universe, every detail makes all the difference. And for those who don't know, I'm using ink on paper and finishing the colors in Photoshop. 🇬🇧 When I first sketched out the character Nicolas the Inventor, I never thought I'd create so much material. There are stacks and stacks of drawings and writings. Deep down, I think it's just a way for me to fulfill myself as a creative person. It's a lot of energy and willpower. Just to give you an idea, I'm already writing the plots for movies 2, 3, and 4. And I'll put all of this in a book that I'm still conceptualizing. // 🇧🇷 Quando fiz os primeiros esboços do personagem Nicolas o Inventor, jamais pensei que iria criar tanto material, são pilhas e mais pilhas de desenhos e escritos, no fundo acho que é só uma forma de eu me realizar como criativo, muita energia e força de vontade. Para você ter uma ideia, já estou escrevendo os argumentos dos filmes 2, 3 e 4. E isto tudo colocarei neste livro que ainda estou idealizando.

I finished the animatic of my short film of my character Nicolas Inventor, it took many hours but it's how I wanted it, as there are always adjustments I need to make, but nothing like time to analyze and adjust. In this animatic work, my voice in the audiovisual took years and reflection to arrive at the stories I want to tell and the message I want to convey. // Terminei o animatic do meu curta metragem do meu personagem Nicolas Inventor, demandou muitas horas mas está como eu queria, como sempre existem ajustes que preciso fazer, mas nada como o tempo para analisar e ajustar. Neste animatic trabalho a minha voz no audiovisual, demandou anos e reflexão para chegar nas histórias que quero contar e na mensagem que quero passar.

Finally I finished the conceptual design of the character Julia, who is part of Nicolas Inventor's gang, in fact she is Nicolas' crush... as you can see she has the 2022 World Cup ball called "Al Rihla", usually drawings concepts take a lot of time to make, it took me about 12 hours, it requires a lot of study of textures, light and shadow, and especially the externalization of how the character really is. // Finalmente terminei o desenho conceitual da personagem Júlia, que faz parte da turminha do Nicolas Inventor, aliás ela é a crush do Nicolas... como pode ver ela está com a bola da Copa do Mundo de 2022 chamada "Al Rihla", geralmente desenhos conceituais demandam muito tempo para serem feitos, demorei cerca de 12 horas, exige muito estudo como de texturas, luz e sombra, e principalmente a exteriorização de como a personagem é de fato.

This was the art that took the most time for me to do, a total of about 50 hours, well it was as I wanted... But if I keep looking, I'll still find lots of help and details to add... In this art I explore what I believe is best for concept of the film, I know it's a depressing image, dark colors, but this is the key scene in the entire narrative of the script I'm developing. // Esta foi a arte que mais demandou tempo para eu fazer, ao todo umas 50h, bom ficou como eu queria... Mas se eu ficar reparando ainda encontrarei muitos ajudes e detalhes para acrescentar... Nesta arte exploro o que acredito ser melhor ao conceito do filme, sei que é uma imagem deprimente, cores escuras, mas esta é a cena chave de toda narrativa do roteiro que estou desenvolvendo.

Working with what you love to do is very amazing, in the beginning it's never easy, but as time passes, or the years, we start to reap the fruits that have a beautiful taste of victory. I believe that the first step to be able to do what we love so much is to have the willpower, secondly the discipline, which is fundamental, only with it we get where we want so much. Late night to make the animatic of Nicolas Inventor's film, what I like most about animatic is that I can create the universe and narrative capable of impacting! Unlike the script where I have to emote through words (which I find more difficult), non-animatic is through sketchy drawings like the one above. For those who don't know what an animatic is, it's a whole version of the movie, with lines, but each scene has sketchy drawings, so far I managed to do 22 minutes, now 1h08 more minutes... Arte conceitual (concept) terminada ontem, ufa, uma arte como esta chega a demandar mais de 18h de trabalho, tempo para a pesquisa, para o esboço à lápis, depois a procura dos brushes no Photoshop, referências fotográficas, depois disso tudo tem o estudo da luz solar, etc. Estes prédios ao fundo só eles foram mais de 2h, mas é algo que adoro fazer e após ficar pronto recompensa todo esforço. Noite à dentro para fazer o animatic do filme do Nicolas Inventor, o que mais gosto do animatic é que posso criar o universo e narrativa capazes de impactar! Diferentemente do roteiro em que tenho que emocionar através de palavras (que acho mais difícil), no animatic é através de desenhos esboçados como este acima. Para quem não sabe o que é um animatic, é uma versão inteirinha do filme, com falas, mas cada cena é com desenho esboçados, até o momento consegui fazer 22 minutos, falta agora mais 1h08 minutos... Mais uns 6 meses eu termino...  

Nova tirinha, terminada hoje mesmo DOMINGÃO. Esta tira em quadrinhos foi baseada em fatos reais, uma pessoa realmente chamou o meu personagem Nicolas de “PCD horrível”! O Nicolas luta contra o preconceito e até ele foi vítima... Após ter postado nas redes sociais, algumas pessoas estão me perguntando o que é "PCD". Significa Pessoa Como Deficiência.
